Day 3: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Drive to the Lemosho Gate and start your climb, trekking through lush rainforest to Mti
Mkubwa Camp
Ascend through dense forest into open moorland, reaching Shira 1 Camp with
spectacular views of the Shira Plateau.
Continue across the Shira Plateau to Shira 2 Camp, enjoying the remote scenery and
gradual altitude gain.
Descend slightly before tackling the Barranco Wall, ending the day at Barranco Camp.
Cross the Karanga Valley and climb to Karanga Camp, preparing for the final summit
push.
Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base for the midnight summit attempt. Rest and prepare
for the climb to the top.
Start around midnight for Uhuru Peak sunrise, then descend to Mweka Camp for
recovery
Complete the descent to Mweka Gate, then drive back to Arusha for an overnight
accommodation.
Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home, taking
